The Trump Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), along with the Army Corps of Engineers, recently issued a rule rescinding the Clean Water Rule of 2015.  This is terrible news for our children.  As pro-life Christians, we stand firmly against actions by the President and his Administration that will make our water sources dirtier, as this will do.  The 30-day comment period for this proposed Trump rule that will make our water dirtier begins today, and we urge everyone to submit a comment opposing this rule. Dear Administrator Pruitt:

I write you as President/CEO of the Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN) on behalf of my organization and the over 3 million pro-life Christians who have joined with us to fight for a clean environment.

There is simply no way to sugarcoat this.  If the Trump Administration’s FY 2018 budget, released yesterday, were to become law our children’s health and well being would pay a steep price.

Open Comment to EPA

Today, over 70 pro-life Catholic and Evangelical leaders and 450 pro-life Christians from across the country have penned an open letter to President-elect Trump asking him to reconsider and withdraw the nomination of Scott Pruitt to head the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and to name someone with a more even handed record of protecting human life from pollution.  The letter and its contents are below (to add your name click here).

Yesterday the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) took an important step in the right direction on protecting our children from pollution that threatens their health.

Today the Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN) is proud to present The Lion’s Den award to Gina McCarthy, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  The award is given to those who show courageous leadership in protecting vulnerable groups from pollution and its consequences.

Statement by Rev. Mitch Hescox: 

We are pleased to support the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) newly released standards to reduce methane leakage from both new and existing landfills. The two new rules as implemented will reduce more than 334,000 tons of methane released per year beginning in 2025, the equivalent of 8.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide.
